Resources for Brown Faculty
A handy guide for resources such as obtaining a Brown ID, email forwarding, and more.
Obtaining a Brown ID
There are a couple different ways to obtain a Brown ID:
- When hired as a physician or other faculty member and need access to Brown's electronic resources or buildings, your appointment will be part of your onboarding. When the appointment letter comes from Brown, this will also give the faculty member all the access they need.
- Before appointment goes through for physicians, or if you are a Brown University Health Employee and work with Brown and need those resources, you can get a Sponsored ID. The employee needs to have a Sponsor (Attending / Supervisor who already has Brown access) and needs to fill out the Brown Card Request Template . Once filled out, email this form to Laurie Sawyer and she will submit it to Brown for approval and processing. (This needs to be renewed each year – you will get an email from Brown when the expiration date comes close. Then resubmit this form to Laurie for processing.)
- In order to obtain a physical Brown ID card, you need to visit the Brown Card office in person.
